Carols

For my project for Through the Craft Room Door I repurposed and old sewing pattern. I sewed around a  5 by 7 piece of sewing pattern. Then I glued some old fabric and eyelet trim. I colored, cut and glued Caroling digital from Jans Digital Stamps. I felt like the right side was too blank. So I added some red ribbon and it still looked a little blank. I decided to punch a hole into the sewing pattern add a grommet pin. I then used The Paper Outpost idea on decorating a safety pin with beads and fabric. I added the word Carols to the fabric to add  some touches to the digital.

Altered Christmas Playing Cards

For the design team project this month for Through The Craft Room Door is OddBall Art.  First I pulled out some playing cards. I add some texture paste with a stencil. I mod podged some white backing from a napkin. I colored the digital Digital Download Printable Stamp Santa Baby Christmas Unicorn Image No 464 I cut out the unicorn and words. I glued some background fabric and lace to add some dimension. Last but not least I glued the unicorn and words. As a side note they work perfectly as magnets. I had some kids home from school this week perfect christmas presents for family and easy to send in the mail.

I also glued a piece of cream colored construction paper as backing.

Off With Your Head Altered Index Card

This week for Through the Craft Room Door I choose

Digital Stamp Big Eye Alice In Wonderland Stamp Queen for the Day Image No. 326. First, I printed and colored with gel pens the digital stamp. Then picked out a coffee dyed jumbo index card and a galaxy stencil. I used black soot mini distress ink to make the galaxy stencil background onto the index card. Then I cut my stamp and placed it onto the index card where I thought it should be. I decided a bit of coffee dyed fabric would add a little texture to the words.  I glued all the pieces where I wanted them and added stickles around some of them.

Decorative Gift Bags

I really wanted to do something more to the front of two floral gift bags that were given to me so I decided for my September 1st Through the Craft Room Door design Team project would be using Le Anns World. I colored the digitals and added some fabric behind it. I used mostly colored pencils and crayons to color them.

Vintage Bella and Friends

Today, I finished my design team project for Through the Craft Room Door. Sometimes I have an easy time but over the last week I wanted to make something for myself not to sell. This week I had my birthday. I was recently given the wooden heart and a quilled hat with flowers all over it. The Hat was falling apart so I broke the hat so only the flowers and leaves were left. I then glued with fabri-fix the quilled paper flowers and leaves onto the wooden heart. I knew I wanted a focal point. I decided that I would use the Bella and Friends digital stamp from Bugaloo Stamps. I printed it on Coffee dyed paper very small which most stamps I print are not able to keep the details as great. I became very happy with the piece I made.

Vintage Japanese Collage Digital Kit

I made this Digital kit for those who don't like making the same old junk journal but are interested in the unusual. This includes 7 collage pages. The ephemera has 2 envelopes, 2 belly bands, 8 playing card size journaling cards, 2 mini filing folders, 16 tabs, 3 tags, and 16 labels. I think the variety may help with your creations.

Blue Butterflies

Through the Craft Room Door Design Team Project
I started with the back of a guitar. I used permanent stick glue to collage some book pages to the piece. I painted gesso over top.  I added old random pieces of stuff like: puzzle pieces, wooden pegs, paper clips, and washers. I painted gesso over top of them pieces too. I grabbed my acrylics and painted a dark blue mixed with lighter blue onto the old random bits. I painted on purple, light purple, and dark blue mixture. I stencil painted the middle with light blue paint. I cut out and glued some blue butterflies that I bought  from Maremi's Small Art.

Frog and Toad

I am starting a new junk journal This one is going to be Frog and Toad. When I found this book a few pages were ripped out and torn. So I couldn't use it the same way I would normally alter a golden book. I used a Teresa's Garden digital kit from MyHopeCreations. It goes perfectly for this journal the whole black and white with a bit of color. I did make a YouTube video of me using and showing the digital kit.

Fabric Paper

I have been watching and listening to one of my favorite crafters Pam from The Paper Outpost. I tried several different glue. First, I used pernament glue stick which worked okay for thin fabrics. Second, I used Modpodge only on the bottom for my thicker fabrics. The other methods I tried using with both are only one or two fabrics at a time compared to lots of pieces of fabric. I show this on my How to make Fabric Paper YouTube Video.

Fall Mini Journal

Yes! I am stating my fall Junk Journals. In order to have more than just one I start making fall journals right before hand I may throw in a few winter ones too. I know shopping wise people are mostly done with the flowery Spring/ Summer journal and are looking for fall/ winter journals. But I had this unfinished mini journal from a few months ago. So I  added a few more pages and bound it. I also added a little extra ephemera to the back page to spice it up a bit.

Beautiful Button Spine

I had to make a bigger spine for the Vintage Junk Journal. I didn't like the look of the spine. So I decided to take some random buttons I have and glue them onto the spine.

Spring Blossoms Wall Hanging

Spring Blossoms wall hanging. I made this out of several pieces that could be recycled if someone just found something new. I used a old metal plate, old candle cap, and artificial flowers. Other things was glue, napkins, old book pages, scissors. It took me about 2 days to make. I also sprayed purple mica to make it glimmer a little. It's a little more than 12 inches in diameter.
